Make the most of your rental

Our fleet moves seasonally between Phoenix, AZ and Missoula, MT -- so wherever you're picking up, here are a few sample itineraries to help you plan your days. Every route below works well in most of our fleet; a suggested pick is noted for each one, but any vehicle can make the trip.

Phoenix, AZ

Red Rocks of Sedona

Day trip · ~90 min each way
  1. Morning: drive up via I-17, arrive in Uptown Sedona for coffee and the galleries.
  2. Late morning: hike Bell Rock or Cathedral Rock for the classic red-rock views.
  3. Afternoon: scenic drive through Oak Creek Canyon, stop at Slide Rock State Park.
  4. Evening: sunset at Airport Mesa before heading back to Phoenix.
Suggested pick: Range Rover Sport or BMW X3 for the canyon curves.

Grand Canyon in a Day

Long day trip · ~3.5 hrs each way
  1. Early start (6-7am) north on I-17, then AZ-64 to the South Rim entrance.
  2. Midday: Mather Point and Yavapai Point, an easy stretch of the South Rim Trail.
  3. Lunch at Grand Canyon Village.
  4. Late afternoon: one more viewpoint before the drive back -- plan to return after dark.
Suggested pick: Chevrolet Tahoe for the long-haul comfort and room.

Scottsdale & Desert Day

Half day · stays local
  1. Morning: Desert Botanical Garden or a sunrise hike up Camelback Mountain (Echo Canyon trail).
  2. Midday: lunch and shopping in Old Town Scottsdale.
  3. Afternoon: Fountain Hills for the fountain and lake walk, or back for pool time.
  4. Evening: dinner on one of Old Town's patios.
Suggested pick: Audi Q3 or MINI Countryman S ALL4 for easy city parking.

Missoula, MT

Glacier National Park Weekend

Overnight · ~2.5-3 hrs each way
  1. Day 1: drive north on US-93 to West Glacier, check in nearby (Whitefish is a good base).
  2. Afternoon: drive the Going-to-the-Sun Road and walk the Trail of Cedars.
  3. Evening: sunset at Lake McDonald.
  4. Day 2: a boat tour or the Many Glacier area before the drive back to Missoula.
Suggested pick: Range Rover Sport or Chevrolet Tahoe for mountain roads and gear room.

Flathead Lake & Whitefish

Day trip · ~1-1.5 hrs each way
  1. Morning: drive north on US-93 along Flathead Lake, Montana's largest natural lake.
  2. Stop in Bigfork for lakeside coffee or an early lunch.
  3. Afternoon: continue to Whitefish for the lake town and a walk around downtown.
  4. Evening: dinner in Whitefish before the drive back.
Suggested pick: BMW X3 or Porsche Cayenne for the lakeside cruising.

Missoula Town & Rattlesnake Wilderness

Half day · stays local
  1. Morning: hike the Rattlesnake National Recreation Area, just north of downtown.
  2. Midday: Caras Park and the Clark Fork Riverfront Trail.
  3. Afternoon: browse the University District and downtown shops.
  4. Evening: dinner downtown.
Suggested pick: MINI Countryman or Audi Q3 for easy downtown parking.
